London: OTE to 45K+ consisting a base up to 35K (subj to exp) + comm This role will suit a media sales person who wishes to work for an independent business that recognises and rewards independent thought and entrepreneurial endeavour. This isn’t your ‘big corporate’ with rigid KPIs ‘or else’. This is a fast-growing business which is responsive to new ideas and can make decisions very quickly. Our client is the leading company for those working in ‘medialand’ and their brands act as the voice of the industry. They bring together brands and agencies using online and print publishing, events, awards and innovative networks. The role is weighted towards digital so candidates with expertise in this area will be fast-tracked. Our client’s numbers for online unique visitors, impressions, followers on Twitter, Facebook likes, etc., all make for impressive reading. Most recently our client won a number of key awards from the Periodical Publishers Association in 2013. Though well established the business still manages to maintain a start up feel to it which is indicative of the input and sense of achievement that one can put into and take from the role. Key day-to-day tasks of the Key Account Manager include the following:
  • Sell advertising and sponsorship solutions across a broad portfolio of online and print solutions, events and our client’s unique network for agencies and suppliers
  • Grow existing accounts and prospect new ones
  • Work with the sales team to achieve group targets
  • Maintain first class product and market knowledge, awareness of market trends and competitor behaviours
  • Contact new clients to generate new business
Key attributes required for the Key Account Manager role include:
  • A demonstrable sales history of at least 3 years with robust results including sponsorship and advertising
  • Good knowledge of or interest in the relationship between agencies and brands with content providers
  • A good degree from a reputable university
  • Team player/ gregarious
  • Ideally the candidate will come from consumer ad sales but this should not rule out strong candidates from B2B
